Description of the hike
Starting from the small town of Llagunes, the path ascends gently through forests and meadows until reaching the remains of the old town of Santa Creu, located at 1,628 meters above the sea.
Among the silence of the mountain, dry stone walls, ceramic fragments , and the vestiges of a square tower that watched over the valley more than a thousand years ago are preserved.
This corner, today surrounded by calm, was inhabited since the Bronze Age and later during the medieval period when the people of the area built a small fortified nucleus to protect themselves. Even in more recent times, during the Civil War, its strategic position served as a refuge and observation point.
At the end of the route, the feeling is that of having traveled not only through mountains and trails but also through centuries of rural life, legends, and traditions that remain alive thanks to those who maintain them.
